There is no standardised statutory minimum wage in Switzerland. However, employees in the domestic work sector have been able to claim a minimum wage since 2020. With the exception of the canton of Geneva, certain gross minimum wages per hour apply according to the standard employment contract.

For example, an unskilled cleaner with no professional experience can demand CHF 19.20 per hour. For an unskilled employee with four years of professional experience in the field of housekeeping, the minimum wage increases to 21.10 francs. Cleaners who are trained domestic workers, have three years of basic vocational training and a federal certificate of proficiency can even demand at least 23.20 francs per hour.
