However, registration, insurance and research all cost time and money. Thanks to Suuber and some other providers that bring private clients and cleaners together, this step is very easy.

How user-friendly is the website?

With suuber.ch As a first step, decide whether you are looking for a Search for a cleaning lady or a Looking for a job as a cleaner. After entering the postcode, you will be taken directly to the search for the relevant area.

You can view the profiles of various cleaners and contact them directly in person. Additional details, such as ironing, can be used to make the search even more detailed.

It is also possible to search by salary, so that you can see directly what costs you will incur or what net salary the cleaner will receive.

On the Quitt homepage, you can start directly as an employer by clicking on the “Get started now” button. In the next step, select the area in which you would like to work. In addition to cleaning assistants, you can also select the segments “Childcare and elderly care” and “Other”.

Click on “Cleaning help” and enter the amount you would like to pay per hour. An average value (of CHF 28) is given to make the selection easier. This is followed by the interval selection and a summary. Further details will only be visible once registration has been completed, so unfortunately you cannot judge beforehand whether a cleaning lady is available in the respective region.

Are the cleaning staff employed and insured?

Both Quitt and SUUBER pursue a similar concept and act as intermediaries. Insurance and employment are not included in this area.

Fortunately, neither quitt.ch nor suuber.ch require cleaners and clients to worry about additional insurance, as all relevant insurances are included in the service package. So you don’t have to deal with the details of AHV, IV, ALV and EO.

Is property damage insured?

With Suuber all property damage is covered from CHF 500 (de minimis limit). So if a small stone scratches the window pane and it has to be replaced, the insurance also covers damage of CHF 5,000, 10,000 or 20,000.

While insurance is included with SUUBER, with Quitt you have the option of adding it on. This increases the hourly rate and you have to pay an annual fee. Quitt’s household contents insurance covers damage up to a maximum of CHF 3,000 (with an excess of CHF 50). Major damage can therefore become a problem here.

Is there a possibility of evaluation?

At suuber.ch, every customer has the opportunity to rate their own domestic help. However, employers have not yet been able to rate cleaners.

With Quitt, clients can rate the service as a whole. However, there is no personal and therefore direct evaluation option.

Is the offer available in all regions of Switzerland?

Both SUUBER and Quitt offer their services in all Swiss cantons. In comparison with the densely populated areas in Zurich, Lucerne or Basel However, choosing a cleaning lady in the countryside is more difficult.

Can I choose the cleaner myself?

Both portals provide for direct contact between cleaners and clients. Both Quitt and SUUBER merely act as intermediaries and provide legal protection and the perfect registration.

What is the hourly wage for the cleaner?

You can specify individually, which price is appropriate for you. This means that only those employers and cleaners whose ideas match will find each other.

Typically, the hourly rate is between CHF 24 and CHF 30 (net). At SUUBER, the service fee is a flat rate of CHF 1.40 per hour, whereas at Quitt there are various models where you save more the higher your cleaning budget is.

For example, a flat rate of CHF 990 per year does not incur a commission fee, while a flat rate of CHF 120 per year incurs a commission fee of CHF 5 % and no fee incurs a commission fee of CHF 8 %.

Are there any additional costs?

SUUBER does not charge any additional fees. Quitt also includes social security contributions in the price. However, there are additional costs for comprehensive household contents insurance.

I have employed my cleaning lady at Quitt. Can I now transfer her to SUUBER?

Yes, of course. You can switch to SUUBER at any time and save money. After successfully registering on the platform, you can create a cleaning job and then invite your favourite cleaner to this job. Your cleaner is then automatically insured and correctly registered.

What is the net salary as a cleaner?

On both suuber.ch and quitt.ch, you as the cleaner decide for yourself what hourly wage you consider appropriate.

Initially, it is advisable to orientate yourself on the average values. Between 24 and 30 CHF is reasonable. The gross price for the customer is always displayed so that you can also keep an eye on this.

Wages are only paid for hours actually worked, not for sick days.

Can I register with the portals free of charge?

Registration is free of charge. There are only service fees if you accept a job. However, as you can set a net wage, this is clear and transparent. At the same time, you save yourself a lot of administrative work, as all payslips can be accessed via SUUBER or Quitt.
